Get ready to mark your calendars! Listed below are all of the field trips planned for September and some of the October field trips. Sign-ups start at the PTA general meetings and can be paid for with cash or check. The trips with limited space available are on a first come, first serve basis. Discovery Works
Monday, April 23rd from 9:15-10:15am
@ Avon Lake Library, 32649 Electric Boulevard, Avon Lake, OH 44012
Join us for a fun morning at Avon Lake Library's Discovery Works. Come explore, build, and create with friends. All ages are welcome. Parents must accompany children and stay in Discovery Works Area while attending with their child. 
-Cost is free.

Free Craft and Story-Telling Event at the Westlake Rec Center Hill

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Awareness month. Project S.T.O.P. Pinwheels for Prevention will raise awareness and help protect our children by creating safe, strong, and healthy communities.

What:
• Make a Craft – Coloring and constructing pinwheels
• BYOB – Story-telling book reading by author of When the Stranger to LOOK OUT for Isn’t a Stranger
• Event support - “Planting” more than 400 pinwheels in the Westlake Rec Center Hill
• Event support - Meet the author! Books available for purchase! (funds to be used for ReInventing The Cycle outreach activities)

How:
• Use a provided pinwheel template at the event or print one found on www.ReInventingTheCycle.org
• Construct it following the instructions on the website
• Write the first name of a child you want to protect, support, and/or honor on it
• Take a picture of the pinwheel and share on social media while inviting others to join #RITCpinwheels

Join us at the Westlake Rec Center hill by the playground on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., for a culminating activity to “plant” your pinwheel & show our community support in the fight against child sexual abuse!

This simple activity will have a huge impact on sending the paramount message that we care about our children and will do our part to S.T.O.P. child abuse!


Cleveland History Center
Saturday, May 5th from 10:00-11:00am and Lunch ???

Join us for a fun morning at that "museum with a carousel". Participate in a dancer-themed program - Imagine you are a carousel animal! Students will use their imaginations to interpret the movement of the Grand Carousel and imitate the movements of the carousel animals. Finish up with a make-and-take craft focusing on carousel animals! Make a day of it in University Circle - pack a lunch to eat at the museum. All attendees are then welcome to explore more of the museum on their own. 
-Cost is $6/person. Pay at the door on the day of the event.

Pat Catan's Paint Your Own Birdhouse
Friday, May 11th from 10:00-11:00am

Enjoy a fun springtime craft with your little one. Join us in the group classroom to paint and decorate your own small wooden birdhouse. 
-Cost is $5/birdhouse. Pay at the door on the day of the event.

Tour of Rocky River Fire Department
Monday, May 14th from 10:00-10:30am

Take a tour of our local fire department.  Tour will last approximately 30 minutes and is geared towards preschool ages.  Meet some firefighters, tour the station and see a fire truck up close.. 
-Cost is free (But some nice thank you art work might be appreciated).
